The Mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barberá, expressed her satisfaction with the 'The Golden City Gate' award in the Technological Innovation category, achieved for the advertisement “Valencia is another dimension” which promotes the city. The spot, produced by the municipal body Turismo Valencia Convention Bureau, has been victorious against the proposals of Germany and South Africa as part of the prestigious Berlin Tourism Fair, ITB.
The video, which competed in the category of innovation, is a 3D creation and in 2 minutes and 44 seconds it invites the viewer to a three-dimensional tour through the different facets of the city: art, culture, tradition, nature, modernity, creativity, celebration, innovation.
This is the second time that Valencia has won a prize in this prestigious international competition in tourism, considered the most important of those dedicated to tourist video. In 2009 it won The Golden City Gate for Best Tourist Advertisement of Cinema and Television with the advert "Valencia, unbelievable but true."
Valencia Tourism Convention Bureau presents the video in every fair and contest it participates in, and it has also been distributed via Internet, with its own microsite: www.turisvalencia.es/vlc3d through different social networks, as well as through the Youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e8Q344IQS0&feature=channel_video_title.
“VALENCIA IS BURNING” IN THE FINANCIAL TIMES
After looking at the spot along with the journalists who had come to the City Hall, the Mayoress also showed a full-page story that the British newspaper Financial Times published on March 5th about our city and the festival of Fallas. Under the headline "Valencia is burning", this international business newspaper offered its many readers "a very positive and nice view from outside of our city and the fiestas," said the Mayoress.
Bear in mind that a page of advertising in this newspaper costs around £58,000 pounds (about €70,000), " which means that the appearance of this information about Valencia is another source of pride and satisfaction for us," said Barbera..
