The Mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barberá, received in the Council Hall the Ambassador of Colombia in Spain, Orlando Sardi de Lima, who is on an official visit to our city. Accompanied by the Minister Plenipotentiary, Augusto García, and the Consul in Valencia, Leticia Ortega, the Spanish-American diplomat held a meeting with the Mayoress. They were also joined by the Deputy Mayor of General Administration, Vicente Igual.

The Ambassador´s arrival at the Council coincided with the end of the official presentation of the Central Park project, presided over by the Mayoress, Rita Barberá, and on which the landscape architect Kathryn Gustafson, the winner of the international contest, was present. On this occasion, the Mayoress invited the Ambassador Sardi de Lima to see the details of this great project of city planning and landscaping, and introduced him to the architect of this design.

Immediately afterwards, the Mayoress discussed with the Colombian Ambassador the main lines of development and future prospects of the city, placing particular emphasis on this new big project, the Central Park, that is to open in Valencia. This is a large environmentally friendly infrastructure, defined by its sustainability, and which is, thanks to its dimensions and elements, the most important in Europe.

Orlando Sardi praised the transformation experienced by Valencia in recent years and expressed his willingness to collaborate and exchange at all levels. The diplomat underlined the potential of our city and its promising prospects for the future.
