THE MAYORESS AND THE AMBASSADOR EXPLORE COOPERATION LINES BETWEEN URUGUAYAN AND VALENCIAN FIRMS

The Mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barberá, has received the ambassador of Uruguay in Spain, Juan Carlos Pita, at the City Hall and they have discussed various ways of cooperation, exchange and relation with our city. It is the first time the diplomat visits our town and had a meeting with the President of the Genealitat, Alberto Fabra, in order to plan a Valencian businessmen trip to Montevideo. 

At the end of the reunion, Barberá and Pita attended the media and explained some details of the conversation, “being the port- stressed the Mayoress- the connecting factor of mutual interests, as Montevideo is going to develop a new port of vast dimensions”. Furthermore, Barberá mentioned other opportunities of investment, like the possible development of a technological cluster, opening channels of communication with Uruguayan firms to this end.

Finally, the Mayoress highlighted the economic development indices of the South American country which current economic growth rate exceeds 6%, and a full employment rate, as an example of dynamism and the potential capacity of de Uruguayan society.
