VALENCIA CREATES THE FIRST VOLUNTEERING OFFICE OF SPORTS IN SPAIN

The city of Valencia, European Capital of Sports in 2011, will host on November 17 and 18, the I European Congress about sports volunteering in history, which will take place at the Complejo Deportivo Cultural La Petxina.

This initiative, which is part of the European Year of Volunteering, will have with us the organizers of the next two Olympic Games: London 2012 and Rio 2016, of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 (Russia) and the candidacy of Madrid 2020.

Therefore, the Valencia City Council, the Municipal Foundation of Sports and the University of Valencia have launched the first Volunteering Office of Sports with the aim of establishing channels to impulse, promote, encourage and coordinate volunteering in the sports field within the scope of Valencia City permanently.
