Valencia’s Devesa-Albufera (meadow/wetlands) heads this project, which fundamentally aims to carry out an awareness campaign about the values of the Red Natura 2000 network in the Albufera Natural Park. Its aim is to develop strategies for police approachability and image, as well as improving relations between police and citizens. The aim of this project is to bring together a series of organisations to tackle the international problem of metal theft, which is a priority for the Europol group of Crimes against Property and causes huge economic losses and dysfunctions in a wide range of industries such as construction, energy, recovery, metallurgy, etc. The project will last for 3 years, from January 2010 to December 2012. The consortium that makes up this project consists of the Valencia Local Police, the Yorkshire Police & People United Against Crime (Sheffield), Agenfor Lombardia (Rome), British Transport Police (London), the Foundation Comunidad Valenciana Región Europea (Valencia), Georama (Patras), Euro Perspectives Foundation (Sofia), West Yorkshire Police (Wakefield), RAILPOL (Drieberg), and the Bureau of International Recycling (Brussels). The Valencia Local Police is participating in this project within the community-financed Prevention of and Fight against Crime Programme, which will last 2 years and aims to study troubled areas and districts of their cities (hot spots) and to detect the predominant type of delinquency, analysing the associated problems. This project will enable safe areas (safelands) to be created where activities can be provided such as seminars, training in personal defence, etc., for the citizens, while at the same time mediators such as our Policía de Barrio (District Police) are trained. Together with this, safe schools will be created through training activities on school bullying and the drawing up of fast intervention guides for mediators. Local Police Department
Under the Lifelong Learning Program 2007-2013 – Grundtvig, the project "Innovative Strategies for the Prevention of Recidivism by Improving competency" aims to develop training content for its local and penitentiary agents involving the prevention and rehabilitation of crime, taking into account the transfer of responsibilities in this regard between the two agents when the convicts go back to join the society. The project is estimated to last two years.
The project has the participation of the Local Police of Valencia, the European Forum for Urban Safety (Paris, France), the City Council of Göttingen (Germany), the CAST Association of Turin (Italy), the City Council of Le Havre (France), the Local Police of Brasov (Romania), the City Council of Opava (Czech Republic) and the Belfast City Council (UK).

This project, funded by the “Civil Protection Financial Instruments” aims to develop an integrated system for the prevention of damages caused by earthquakes on cultural heritage, for which several studies will be run and guides and training activities will de developed intended to increasing effectiveness in the rescue and protection of cultural heritage. The project implementation period will be two years.
